DIY BOHO Decor On A Budget Room Makeover
DIY Boho Bedroom Makeover on a Budget: Step-by-Step Guide
Getting Started
When I started this project, the bedroom was a blank canvas. It’s one of the larger rooms in the house, with beautiful hardwood floors, but it needed personality. My goal was to create a boho-style room that felt cozy and practical, especially for my daughter, who loves reading and playing in her room. I wanted the design to be affordable and functional for her needs.
Budget-Friendly Essentials
I began with some basics that are both stylish and easy on the wallet. First, I added simple white curtain rods from Walmart, which were very inexpensive. To give the room a soft, warm look, I chose textured curtains, also from Walmart. They added a crisp, clean feel to the space without costing much.
For the bed, I went with a basic white bed frame that fit perfectly with the fresh, minimalist look I wanted. It was affordable, but still solid and practical. For the bedding, I used Lifewit pillows, which are not only great for sleeping but also hold their shape for decorative purposes. They’re fluffy, supportive, and budget-friendly.
DIY Decor Highlights
One of the standout features of the room is the vine wall I created behind the bed. I used inexpensive vine strands and curtain lights from Amazon to bring a natural, cozy vibe to the space. This simple DIY project adds a lot of character without taking much time or money.
I also set up a little reading nook for my daughter using a canopy from Amazon. It’s a linen-style canopy, which is more durable than the usual sheer material, and it fits perfectly over her textured rug, adding a cozy spot for her to relax.
Adding Functional Touches
To make the room both practical and cute, I hung up a few clipboards where she can display photos, quotes, or artwork. It’s a fun and flexible way to personalize the space.
I also added a three-tiered cart for organizing books and toys. This small but sturdy cart is a great solution for keeping things tidy while fitting into a small space.
Conclusion
This budget-friendly boho bedroom makeover turned out great! The space feels warm, inviting, and practical for my daughter. You don’t need to spend a lot to create a stylish, cozy room—just a few simple items and a bit of creativity can go a long way.
Stay tuned for my next project where I’ll transform a small closet into a functional, aesthetic space!
